April 15, 2023

• Left home around 7 and drove over 11 hours. Stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites in North Platte, NE. (aka: boring)

• Had Subway and got gas.

 

April 16, 2023

• Got up early and had some sausages from the free breakfast. If only sausages were vegetables.

• Left around 7:30-ish - very nice day and full tank of gas.

• Denver was a literal nightmare - I am not good with twisty roads and stressed out driving on that whole section.

• Got to Fruita (pronounced Fruit-aah) around 2:30, ridiculously cute little town.

• Walked/drove around a bit, a few places are dog friendly.

• Had a margarita at Fiesta Guadalajara.

• Got to the unit right after 4, unpacked quickly, went to the grocery (City Market) to get some stuff for the stay, thinking I may not be able to do it after getting the dog.

• Home, watched Succession then went to bed. It was a very squeaky bed!

 

April 17, 2023 

• So excited that today is dog day!!

• Was ready even an hour earlier than expected, one of the clocks didn’t adjust.

• Got to Moab around 10, stopped in a coffee shop for a latte.

• Moab seemed too busy - small congested town.

• Got to Underdog right on time, it was a wonderful place snuggled in the mountains. Got a tour of the outdoor dogs, usually 2-3 in each run with the puppies in back.

• Beth popped into view and got so excited. 

• Went around after adoption and took pics/videos of the other dogs.

• Cool story - I was going to call her Finley, but the girl who adopted her out was 6 months pregnant and I asked her what sex her baby was - she said it was a girl and she was naming her Raven Finley! Woah.

• Came home, did some walks, she peed in the bedroom.

• Slept on the floor with her, she seemed to like it.

 

April 18, 2023

• Lots of sleep day.

• They came to fix the bed and got Enstrom Almond Toffee, mmmmmm.

• Slept during a lot of the day.

• Got taco bowl from Fiesta Guadalajara, not that great.

 

April 19, 2023 

• Lots of walks, went to Grand Valley Vet for 8:45 appointment.

• Got eye stuff for Finley - great bill of health.

• So hungry after noon - got BBQ chicken from grocery store.

• Slept out on the couch again.

• Finley peed in the bedroom in the morning but then went outside.
